The Italian "burger-lovers" charge does not stop

With 173 thousand kilograms ordered in 2024 and a good 60 thousand kilograms purchased in the first three months of 2025 on the Just Eat food delivery platform alone, the hamburger is now an integral part of the Italian diet , even representing one of the flagship dishes. The analysis of consumer preferences reveals that the most popular online variant among Italians is the 'cheese burger' , with melted cheese, followed by the 'bacon burger' , with crispy bacon, and the 'chicken burger', based on fried chicken. There is also no shortage of 'glam & green' recipes such as the 'avocado burger', with avocado and lime juice, nor local 'interpretations' such as the one in vogue in Naples, characterized by 'richer' combinations including cheddar, bacon and potatoes. The Milanese, on the other hand, prefer the more 'basic' versions, with the classic cheese, while the Bolognese tend to favor the 'maxi', with a double 240-gram hamburger. The side dishes range, in turn, from the inevitable French fries to onion rings, from chicken wings to crunchy nuggets, up to Ascoli olives and supplì.
Versatile and convivial, consumed at almost any time of the day, the hamburger records the peak of online orders especially during the weekends and in the evening time slot between 7 and 9 pm : the ideal time to be enjoyed on the sofa in the living room in the colder months, perhaps while watching your favorite TV series, and, in the summer, on the seashore, admiring the sunset, strictly in company.
